When Does Implantation Bleeding. Up to 25 percent of women experience bleeding or spotting in the first trimester and implantation is one cause of first trimester bleeding. On an average implantation bleeding occurs around nine days after conception. For example if you are sexually active and expect your period on January 25th then you might question any spotting you have between Jan. So if you have a regular cycle theres a change it could happen more-or-less when youd expect to have your next period if you werent pregnant.
You may notice implantation bleeding anytime between 7 to 14 days after conception. During this time the inner lining of the uterus called the endometrium starts to change. However the range is variable with the same taking place either within a week or even two weeks after conception. The average is 8 or 9 days after ovulationfertilization. It is one of the primary symptoms of implantation and happens when the embryo embeds into the uterine wall. During this time it divides into hundreds of identical cells.
It should stop within a day or two.
Any bleeding that happens before or after that window of time is less likely to be implantation bleeding but its not impossible. A person will usually. Implantation bleeding may be pinkish scanty and not as red and heavy as the period bleeding.
